1. Introduction

Hello, welcome to the Cookie Policy of Latch GmbH (“Latch“, “We” or “Us“) for Our apps. We may use cookies and other technologies for Our apps – so-called software development kits (“SDK“) – e.g. to ensure the proper operation and security of Our apps, to improve the user experience of Our apps or to improve your advertising experience (e.g. to show you more interesting advertising). You can change your cookie and SDK settings at any time in the privacy settings of your profile.

2. Scope

This policy only applies to Our apps. For Our websites Our Cookie Policy (Website) applies.. Your cookie and SDK settings only apply to Our app, from which you came to this policy. You have separate cookie and SDK settings for each of Our apps or websites.

3. What are cookies and SDK?

SDKs are software modules that can be integrated into the software of an app. They basically work in the same way as cookies.

Cookies are small files that are stored on your device and are called up again the next time you visit the website or app.

To make this policy easier to understand, We use the term “cookies” to refer to both cookies and SDKs in the following sections of this policy (unless We explicitly use the term SDK).

4 What types of cookies are there?

There are so-called “first party cookies”. These are cookies that are integrated into Our apps by Us. So-called “third party cookies” are integrated into Our apps by third parties. Furthermore, cookies can be divided into “session cookies” and “permanent cookies”. Session cookies are deleted again when you have ended a session. Permanent cookies remain stored even after the end of a session.

5. Functional cookies

These cookies are necessary so that We can ensure the proper operation, security and stability of Our app. You can therefore not deactivate the functional cookies.

5.1. Google Firebase

Google Firebase is a product of Google Inc. and therefore personal data may be transferred to the USA. Google Firebase is used for SMS and email authentication, for reassigning passwords, for storing user and app data, for configuring the app, for sending (push) messages, and for analyzing and reporting errors and crashes of Our app. Therefore, your telephone number and e-mail address are used in Google Firebase, among other things.

5.2. Sentry.io

Sentry.io is a product of Functional Software Inc., therefore data may be transferred to the USA. WE use sentry.io to analyze errors and crashes of Our app. We transfer the user ID that We generate for you in Oour app when you register on Our app.

    5.3. RevenueCat

    RevenueCat is a product of RevenueCat Inc. and therefore data may be transferred to the USA. RevenueCat is used to process purchases in OUR app so that purchases and subscriptions that you buy in Our app are correctly displayed and you can use them accordingly. RevenueCat only receives the user ID from US, which WE generate for you in Our app when you register on Our app. Furthermore, all your purchases in Our app are mapped in RevenueCat and linked to your user ID so that they are correctly mapped in Our app.

    6. Tacking cookies

    We use these cookies to improve your experience on Our apps and to personalize the content of Our apps for you: With these cookies, We can carry out anonymous or personalized analyses of the use of Our apps and, for example, identify trends in the use of Our apps. Your device / you will be assigned an individual identification number for this purpose. We only use these cookies with your consent. You can change your cookie settings at any time in the privacy settings of your profile. If you don’t want tracking cookies, you can use Our app with a subscription.

    6.1 Google Analytics 4 for Firebase

    Google Analytics 4 for Firebase is a product of Google Inc. Your personal data may be sent to the USA. Various data is collected in the standard configuration – these are basically: number of users and sessions, session duration, operating systems, device models, region, first-time launches, app executions, app updates, in-app purchases. In the list of automatically generated events ( [GA4] About events – Analytics Help (google.com)) and the list of automatically defined user properties ([GA4] Predefined user dimensions – Analytics Help (google.com)), this data is listed transparently.

    7. Marketing cookies

    We use these cookies to show you advertising that is as interesting as possible for you. These cookies can be used, for example, to evaluate how effective the marketing campaigns on Our apps are or whether the advertising shown is relevant to you. This allows Us to improve your advertising experience on Our apps. Furthermore, advertising campaigns can be adapted to you based on your details (e.g. age, gender, location). In addition, We may use marketing cookies to measure Our own advertising activities. Android and Apple devices have an advertising ID that can be used for advertising purposes (personalized advertising). For example, location-based ads can be shown to you due to this advertising ID. You can reset or even delete your advertising ID on your device.

    AppsFlyer is a product of AppsFlyer Ltd. Your personal data may be sent to the USA. AppsFlyer is used to measure Our own marketing activities (What is mobile attribution? | AppsFlyer mobile glossary).). This allows Us to see which marketing activities interest you (e.g. whether you have downloaded Our app as a result of an advertisement). AppsFlyer uses your advertising ID for this. Furthermore, AppsFlyer can process technical data of your cell phone (e.g. model, language settings, network information (e.g. IP address), screen orientation), as well as actions (e.g. uploading a video, deleting your account).
